ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME
Another 6 week Junior Development Programme has been completed.
Netball South Canterbury would like to thank Trust Aoraki for their continued support in delivering this programme to year 7 & 8 players.
The girls basic skill levels have increased and during the 6 weeks have learnt nutrition tips and stretching exercises as well as general netball skills.
As seen in the photos, fun mixed with hard work is the winning combination. Junior Convenor Steph Waud and Coaching Convenor Clare Smolinski once again co-ordinated and delivered the programme.

Congratulations to the Year 7 Junior Development Team
The Junior Representative Netball Programme started on Sunday at Ashburton with all three South Canterbury teams attending.
The Junior A team faced some tough opposition only winning one of their games against North Otago with some accurate shooting by Chantelle Walker being a highlight of this game. South Canterbury started slowly against Mid-Canterbury with players showing their inexperience at this level but their confidence grew as the game went on and some good defensive work was played by Tayla Shearer, Kate Shaw and Georgia Greig. Although all players battled hard all day against some physical competition they could not manage to score any more wins against Nelson, Marlborough, Selwyn and Christchurch.
The team is looking forward to meeting some of these teams again in two weeks time at the Timaru Tournament a lot more confident with team combinations improving.
The Junior B team ended the day in 3rd place and the Year 7 Junior Development team were successful in winning all of their games to win the C.Grade trophy.
