Alice Eddington in 2012 NZ Secondary Schools Team

Alice Eddington has made the 2012 NZ Secondary Schools netball team and will travel to Adelaide next month to compete in the Trans-Tasman Secondary Schools tournament.

This is the second time Alice has attended the NZSS trials and is the only South Island player to make the team this year. In the past South Canterbury has had Erin McDuff and Courtney Chapman selected.

Alice has been a regular in the Craighead A team for the past 3 years and was thankful for the support of her Craighead team-mates and coach Barry Tucker in helping her get to this point.

Tucker said it was the ideal reward for Eddington given her progress. “She is now a complete player with the work ethic and drive to succeed and has belief in herself and her abilities and I’m extremely happy for her.”

WELL DONE ALICE!

Online Centre Theory Test

Netball New Zealand has launched the new Online Centre Theory Test which tests an umpire’s knowledge of the rules. Umpires, or even keen players and coaches, can now test their rule knowledge using the Online test at any time of the day or night. Click on the link below:

REP TRIALIST NOMINATION FORM

This season if you would like to trial for a Netball South Canterbury rep team, please click on the link below, fill out the nomination form and return to the netball office by 21 April 2012. Please post, fax or email the forms.

The trial will take place at the SBS Events Centre from 9.30-3.30pm on Sunday 29 April 2012.

Players must be available for pract on Wed nights and are required to attend the following tournaments:

3-4 June Christchurch Tournament – all teams

10 June North Canterbury Tournament – all teams

17 June Otago Invitational Tournament – U17/U19

24 June Mid Canterbury Tournament – all teams

24 June Hanan Shield, North Otago – senior team
