ABOUT US

Netball South Canterbury is the regional body responsible for delivering, supporting, and growing netball across South Canterbury. Based at Aorangi Park in Timaru, the organisation oversees competitions, development programmes, umpire training, and community netball opportunities for players from primary school through to senior levels.

Netball has long been part of South Canterbury’s sporting landscape. Local netball associations have operated in the region for decades, contributing significantly to community sport in Timaru and surrounding districts. Over time, these organisations evolved into what is now known as Netball South Canterbury, continuing a strong tradition of structured competitions and clear pathways from grassroots participation through to representative netball. The organisation remains a key part of community sport and will celebrate 100 years in 2029.

Today, Netball South Canterbury delivers a wide range of programmes, including junior development, holiday programmes, Future Ferns workshops, coach education, and umpire training. These initiatives are designed to strengthen skills, support volunteers, and ensure young players have access to quality netball experiences.
