Secondary school netball in South Canterbury is structured across two dedicated grades - Secondary School A and Secondary School B, providing strong weekly competition for Years 9–13.  While most teams remain in the secondary structure, some high‑performing school sides qualify to compete in the Premier divisions, reflecting the depth of local talent.

The season inclueds two grading days, two round‑robin rounds that determine standings and movement between A and B grades. The competition concludes with semifinals and finals, ensuring a clear and competitive pathway.

Playing for school also opens the door to major events such as the South Island Secondary Schools (SISS) tournament and tradtional school exchanges.
